Margaret Hatwood is a family law partner at Anthony Gold. She specialises in negotiating complex settlements involving high net worth clients, and is accredited by family law organisation Resolution to do so (one of only around 30 solicitors in London). She is also accredited in domestic violence and in cohabitation matters.
Margaret has practised collaborative family law since 2007 and firmly believes that a collaborative route is the best solution for the whole family, wherever it is possible and appropriate. She feels that this is especially true in high profile circumstances where privacy may be an issue if the case goes to court, and both of those involved have an interest in avoiding a long, drawn out, public dispute.
Due to a professional background in the West Country, Margaret has a substantial amount of experience in dealing with cases involving senior military personnel, large farms and estates. An increasing amount of her work involves advising clients about pre and post-nuptial and civil partnership agreements, and she is also knowledgeable and proficient in trusts and asset protection matters.
Margaret writes regularly for legal journals. She is has written a chapter for Resolution’s “Modern Families” published April 2012. Margaret also enjoys lecturing on family law issues and is the current chair of the Association of Women Solicitors (London Region).
